My one and only job at present is to protect my grandchildren and their grandmother. In the face of all opposition I stand firm with my experience and knowledge about earthquakes, seismology and volcanism. I've lived through them all, BIG and small. Those that have not smelled the Sulfur at the top of Mt. Baker / Kulshan or lived through a magnitude 7.0 to 7.5 earthquake, as I did, nor a magnitude 8.1, as I did. DON'T HAVE A CLUE.

Universal Coordinated Time UTC – ZULU is a 24 hour clock . There are extremes in preparedness, of course. As a basis of my work I use the 2015 Profile of Earthquake Risk in the District of North Vancouver by Earthquake Canada, wherein they state that there is 30% chance of a M7.3 in the middle of the Salish Sea in the next 50 years, that will bring down 839 buildings, just in the District of North Vancouver. There are many legends surrounding this extraordinary lake in Kyrgyzstan – the sunken city of “Lyesh”, the “tears of the snow leopard” that lend the water its salinity, and finally about the name of the lake itself:
Issyk Kul. The name means “hot lake”, because despite being at an altitude of over 1,600 meters it never freezes, not even in the coldest of winters; a remarkable natural phenomenon.
